In January, the first class of 120 Peace House Secondary School (PHS) students in Tanzania, East Africa returned to campus after the holiday break. On their first morning back, the students had gotten up, eaten breakfast, and were sitting in their classrooms 40 minutes early, before the teachers had even arrived! They were clearly eager to renew their studies and engage in all the activities at PHS.
Peace House Secondary School is a major boarding school for AIDS orphans and other vulnerable children in Tanzania. PHS will be a model secondary school for Tanzanian orphans and will prepare students to play active roles in building a better, more sustainable future for their country.
